A man driving impaired is facing felony drug charges after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers seized 13 pounds of marijuana, worth nearly $30,000, during a traffic stop yesterday in Cuyahoga County.
Troopers from the Medina Post stopped a 2006 Hummer, with Ohio registration, for a speed violation on Interstate 90, near milepost 171, in the city of Cleveland at approximately 9 p.m. Upon contact with the driver, the odor of raw marijuana was present. A probable cause search revealed 13 bundles of marijuana, each weighing a pound.
The driver, Jamall Harris, 32, of Cleveland Heights, was charged with OVI, and trafficking in marijuana, a third-degree felony.
Harris was incarcerated in the Cuyahoga County Justice Center. If convicted, he could face up to five years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine.
