Exclusive: Man accused of murder changes plea, years after the crime

19 Action News is breaking a stunning twist in the case of a young man who killed his father, seven years after the fact.

Daniel Jung has been in a mental hospital since the former Stanford student pleaded not guilty to killing his father Yong H. Jung, in Westlake, Ohio, and injuring his mother, Jemma Jung.

But court records show he just recently plead guilty to killing his dad.

Cops say in '04 Jung stole his dad's car and ran over both parents.

Defense attorneys argued Jung was schizophrenic.

Cuyahoga County prosecutors say little-by-little, with the help of medication, Jung's mental health got better.

A few months ago he was found competent for trial and this week he plead guilty to involuntary manslaughter.

It is a day Westlake police have been waiting for.

Jung will be sentenced next month. He faces up to 18 years in prison.
