ELYRIA, OH (WOIO) - An Elyria man and his young son mauled by a pit bull mix Tuesday night.
The attack happened shortly after 7:30PM in the 300 block of 8th Street.
40-year-old Ryan Davis suffered injuries to his arms, stomach and back. His 6-year-old son, Cameron, also sustained injuries to his back.
According to the police report, two 11-month-old dogs ran from their home in pursuit of a nearby cat. The dogs chased the cat into the roadway, and one of the dogs began scratching little Cameron. Ryan stepped in to shield his son, and took the brunt of the attack.
The owner of the dogs, Wanda Alexander, was cited. She also advised officers that neither of the dogs had vaccinations for rabies.
Ryan and Cameron are currently hospitalized. No word on their conditions at this time.
