Rocky River Officer rescues woman from Lake Erie

A Rocky River police officer rescues a swimmer from Lake Erie. Happened around 1:30 pm at the Brad Street Landing on Lake Road in Rocky River.

Another person at the park saw a man and woman having trouble in the water and called 911.

Rocky River Police Officer Nicholas Rusinko and a good Samaritan jumped into the water and pulled the 19-year-old woman to safety. She was conscious and breathing and rushed to the hospital.

The 22-year-old man was able to make to shore by himself.

There are no life guards at this location, and there is no swimming allowed at the location.

The couple will not be charged.
