Stow serial burglar sentenced

The Stow Police Department has arrested a 24 year old male in connection with 15 residential burglaries. 14 of the burglaries occurred in the City of Stow and 1 in the City of Hudson. All of these burglaries occurred during the daytime hours between 11-27-10 and 02-06-11. 

According to the cops the suspect typically walked up to the house and knocked on the front door to see if anyone was home. If nobody answered the door, the suspect attempted to gain entry to the home by kicking in the man-door on the side of the attached garage or forcing open a door in the back of the home. Once inside of the home, the suspect stole jewelry, cash, weapons and flat panel TV

The suspect in the case was stopped and identified by Patrol Officers who responded to a suspicious persons call on 12-17-10 while walking on Mac Drive. Subsequently, through investigation, this male was linked to numerous burglaries in Stow and one in Hudson.

The suspects name is Jake R. Johnson, 24. He lives with his parents at 3719 Hile Road in Stow.

Mr. Johnson pled guilty in Summit County Common Pleas Court on 07-11-11 and was sentenced of 5 years in prison.
