Akron woman accused in hit and run turns herself in to police

An Akron woman wanted by police has turned herself in. Cops say Lashawndra Weems turned herself into police Thursday night after she saw news reports.
Weems is expected to be charged with felonious assault.
Wednesday night, in the 800 block of Donald Avenue, Weems was involved in a fight with some other girls.
After the fight Weems got into her car and drove away. She turned around in a parking lot, came back down the street, and intentionally drove over the curb and through the yard, striking six individuals before fleeing. All six victims were transported to local hospitals for treatment.
The victims' ages are 2, 7, 23, 26, 30, and 31.
The two year old was admitted to Akron Children's Hospital, the 7 year old was treated and released from Children's Hospital, the adults were being treated at Akron General Medical Center and Akron City Hospital where their injuries do not appear to be life threatening.
