Akron woman accused of crashing car into crowd appears in court

AKRON, OH (WOIO) - An Akron woman accused of using her car as a weapon went before a judge Friday morning.

Lashawndra Weems is accused of plowing her car into a group of women she had been fighting with in the 800 block of Donald Avenue on Wednesday night. Several had broken bones and bruises.

Weems appeared in court alone, so the judge set bond at $100K dollars and delayed her arraignment until she could get a lawyer. The judge also wanted an update on the victims.

The victims' ages are 2, 7, 23, 26, 30, and 31. The two-year-old was admitted to Akron Children's Hospital, the seven-year-old was treated and released from Children's Hospital, the adults were being treated at Akron General Medical Center and Akron City Hospital where their injuries do not appear to be life threatening.
