(WOIO) - A number of First Energy customers without electricity this hour.
At the height of the outage, around 40,000 customers were without power in both Cleveland and Lakewood.
As of 11:30AM, most of the power has been restored, with less than 1,200 customers without juice.
First Energy officials tell 19 Action News a large substation in Brooklyn flooded, triggering the outages.
Crews are still pumping out water at the Brooklyn substation, so customers were switched to other circuits for the time being.
First Energy requests that customers in the affected areas conserve power. For example, avoid using items like dishwashers, washing machines, etc.
