Suspect in deadly Kent shooting found dead in Cleveland hotel

KENT, OH (WOIO) - The suspect in a recent Kent shooting has been found dead at the LaQuinta Inn in Cleveland on W. 150th.

According to the Medical Examiner the body has been identified as Jose Quinones. At this time, according to sources, it appears to be a suicide.

The shooting in Kent happened Sunday. Cops were called to Akron Boulevard a little after 10PM.

Police say the 52-year-old Quinones and 49-year-old Belinda Mellot were fighting, and 35-year-old Gregory Cochran tried to break-up the fight. Quinones shot both Mellot and Cochran.

Mellott was rushed to Akron City Hospital, where she died. Cochran is being treated at Akron City Hospital.

Quinones fled the scene in a white Chevy Impala before cops arrived.

Police are not sure yet of the relationship between Quinones and Mellott.

Cleveland police are investigating.
