Family of man cleared in high-profile park murder to hold news conference

The family of a man whose murder conviction was just overturned by an Appeals Court will hold a news conference today.

Joaquin Hicks was one of several men convicted in the execution-style shootings in Perk Park on East 12th Street in February of 2009.

Jeremy Pechanek and Jory Aebly were both shot. Pechanek did not survive.

Hicks was convicted of helping set up the victims at the bar Scorchers, but his family has always said he was at an aunt's house that night.

Hicks was sentenced to life in prison, but could soon be released.
