Cleveland (WOIO) - The Indians picked a good time for some more 9th inning magic, and rookie Jason Kipnis picked a great time for his first major league hit, as the Indians rallied past the Angels on Monday night, 3-2 at Progressive Field.
Kipnis, just called up last Friday, singled home Carlos Santana in the bottom of the 9th to win it, but he wasn't alone in the rally. Travis Hafner had tied the game earlier in the inning by doubling home Michael Brantley to tie it.
The Indians had trailed 2-1, after Bobby Abreu's two-run home run off Vinnie Pestano in the 8th.
Fausto Carmona and Dan Haren dueled for six innings, as Carmona went six scoreless innings, and Haren struck out 10, before giving way to the bullpen.
