Suspects Sought: Tremont resident found shot to death, bound by his hands and feet

A 21-year-old man found was found shot to death inside his apartment in Cleveland's Tremont neighborhood early Wednesday morning.

Cleveland Police tell 19 Action News the victim, Brandon Cartellone of Cleveland, had a gunshot wound to the abdomen and his hands and feet were bound.

Cartellone's girlfriend found his body around 1:30AM Wednesday inside his apartment on Professor Avenue.

After further investigation, cash and a hydroponic marijuana growing system was located in the Cartellone's apartment.

Neighbors in the community are stunned.

"It kind of took my breath away when I heard this," said one visibly shaken woman. "I don't's just bad."

The Cleveland Institute of Art released the following statement Wednesday evening:

"It is with great sadness that we report the death of CIA student Brandon Cartellone, who died in his off-campus apartment earlier today. The circumstances surrounding his death are being investigated by the Cleveland police.

This is very difficult news, so we have alerted our counseling service provider at Case Western Reserve University and encourage our students to contact them. Students can reach a counselor at 216.368.5872.

CIA is a small community and we are all affected by this loss. Our thoughts are with Brandon's friends, teachers, and family."

There are no suspects at this time.
