The Browns terminated the contracts of linebacker Eric Alexander and quarterback Jake Delhomme on Thursday. In addition, the team waived tight end Tyson DeVree.
Delhomme signed a two year deal with the Browns before last season worth about $14 million.
The move opens up about $2.3 million in salary cap room for the team.
Delhomme passed for 872 yards, with two touchdowns and seven interceptions last season.
He started the first game last season against Tampa Bay, but sprained his ankle in the first half. He completed the game, but missed the next three games.
Delhomme only played in three more games for the rest of the season.
