GM Lordstown to hold open house

LORDSTOWN, OH (WOIO) - The General Motors Company and UAW Locals 1112 and 1714 will host open house events at both Lordstown East and West plants today until 8 pm.

The open house will give the community an opportunity to learn more about Lordstown's people, product and manufacturing system while providing Lordstown the opportunity to Thank America. The Lordstown Complex employs 4,500 people and stamps parts for and assembles the Chevrolet Cruze, America's best selling car.

The open house will include a display of the just launched 2012 Cruze, Chevrolet Volt and a wide array of the latest cars and trucks that Chevrolet has to offer along with the UAW-GM Buy American Display at the West plant. And visitors will get a chance to win a Cruze.

Altogether, General Motors will host an open house event at all 54 of its U.S. manufacturing locations and the Customer Care and Aftersales warehouses by the end of 2011.
