Convict cops plea, avoids death penalty in brutal 1982 rape, murder

A guilty plea Wednesday from the man convicted in a brutal 1982 attack.

By pleading guilty, 58-year-old Richard Wilson avoids the death penalty.

Wilson was convicted of attacking two women at West 6th and St. Clair back in 1982.

The victims were in a car when they were attacked. 42-year-old Mary Ann Finegan was raped and murdered. Her 38-year-old friend was also attacked, but survived.

The case went unsolved until last year.

Wilson will be sentenced August 17th at 11:30AM.
