Cleveland (WOIO) - When the Indians needed it most, both Ubaldo Jimenez and Jason Kipnis stepped up, one on the mound, the other at the plate, as the Indians tortured the Tigers on Wednesday, 10-3 at Progressive Field.
Jimenez, making his first start on his new home turf, went eight innings, giving up only three runs on six hits. His eight innings were crucial for the Tribe, following Tuesday night's 14-inning marathon that drained the bullpen.
Kipnis, meanwhile, tore it up at the plate, going 5-for-5, including a two-run home run in the second that gave the Indians a 4-0 lead.
They'd blow it open in the fourth with four more runs, and cruise to their 13th straight win over the Tigers at Progressive Field, pulling within two games of the division leaders in the process.
