Two suspects arrested for two Northeast Ohio bank robberies

Ohio authorities have arrested two males in connection to two separate robberies

Police arrested Raymond Spears, age 22 and charged him with one count of Federal Bank Robbery for his involvement in the robbery of the Chase Bank, 5400 Mayfield Road, Lyndhurst, Ohio on July 21, 2011. 

Theodore L. Crawford was charged with one count of Federal Bank Robbery for his involvement in the robbery of the Home Savings Bank, 7707 Mentor Avenue, Mentor, Ohio on July 25, 2011.

Spears and Crawford have additional pending charges related to the two aforementioned bank robberies.

 These cases were investigated by the Lyndhurst Police Department, Mentor Police Department and members of the FBI's bank robbery task force which includes the Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Department and the Cleveland Office of the FBI.

Crawford will appear today in United States District Court for his initial appearance on the charge of bank robbery which carries a sentence of up to 20 years imprisonment.  Spears appeared in United States District Court on August 9, 2011 for his initial appearance and is awaiting further court appearances on his charge of bank robbery.
