Blimp located after breaking loose during high winds Sunday

COLUMBUS, OH (WOIO) -

The Ohio State University Police Department and the Ohio State Highway Patrol Aviation Section are currently investigating an incident that involved the HANGAR 1 VODKA Blimp. 

The Blimp was moored at the Ohio State University – Don Scott Airfield in Columbus, Ohio when just after midnight Sunday morning, strong winds developed that caused the blimp to break free from its moorings and drift into the air, going in an eastward direction from the field.

The missing blimp was located by the Worthington Police department at 5916 Linworth Road around 7:37 a.m.

The Ohio State University Police Department and the Ohio State Highway Patrol Aviation Section are responding to continue the investigation into the incident that involved the HANGAR 1 VODKA Blimp.

The blimp was damaged when the winds tore it free from its moorings.
