Tigers hit three homers to down the Indians 4-1

Indians now 2.5 games in back of Detroit Indians now 2.5 games in back of Detroit

The Tigers hit three homers off Indians starter Josh Tomlin to beat the Tribe 4-1.  The Tigers now hold a two-and-a-half game lead over the Indians.

Austin Jackson hit a two-run shot off Tomlin in the sixth to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead.

Carlos Santana scored on a wild pitch in the seventh to cut the lead to 2-1.

But Tomlin gave up back-to-back jacks in the bottom half of the inning to Alex Avila and former Indian Jhonny Peralta to give the Tigers a 4-1 victory.

Tomlin gave up four runs in six and two thirds innings.

Tigers Max Scherzer went seven innings giving up one run on five hits.
