North Canton couple robbed, sexually assaulted during terrifying home invasion

NORTH CANTON, OH (WOIO) - North Canton Police continue to investigate a brutal home invasion where a couple was held at gunpoint, robbed and sexually assaulted.

North Canton Police say two black males wearing dark clothes, ski masks and gloves broke into a home in the 1100 block of Sandford Ave S.E. Saturday around 4 a.m. through a basement window and woke a couple sleeping in bed.

The suspects tied the victims' hands and feet with duct tape and held guns to their heads while demanding money and cell phones. Next, they sexually assaulted the female victim.

After the assault, the suspects fled the scene. The male victim tried to run after them, but couldn't see the vehicle they drove off in. The Massillon Police Department deployed their K-9 unit to the scene, but were also unable to locate the suspect.

The female victim was transported to Mercy Medical Center by the North Canton Fire Department where she was treated and released.

The only items missing from the home were cell phones and the demanded money.

The suspects are described as two black males, one is about 6' 1" possibly known as Steve, and the other is about 5' 7" and light skinned.
