WILLOUGHBY, OH (WOIO) - Willougby Police got a call from an off-duty Willoughby Fireman who found a 2-year-old walking around on Robinhood Drive.
Witnesses on scene told police that the child resided on Robinhood Drive, but that it didn't appear an adult was home and the toddler appeared to be looking for a parent or grandparent.
Police entered the home where the toddler lived announcing their presence, but no one responded.
They observed that the residence was dirty with bowls of cigarette butts all around the house. They also found harmful weed killer on the ground where the toddler had access. The toddler also appeared to be filthy and in need of a bath.
A male and female were found sleeping on the second floor of the home. The female resident was the mother of the toddler.
They were advised a report would be filed with Lake County Job and Family Services. Possible charges are pending.
