Police identify sinner in church theft, charges pending August 22, 2011 at 11:16 PM EST - Updated June 25 at 5:08 AM A 44-year-old man arrested for stealing from a Catholic church has been charged. Eddie Davis was charged Tuesday with Breaking & Entering and Theft. Police tell 19 Action News Davis broke into Holy Name Church on Broadway in Slavic Village on August 17th. He is accused of stealing the whole Tabernacle - with the Eucharist still inside. Davis was arrested Monday after sources tell 19 Action News a break came when police got information from scrap yards. He is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday morning. Copyright 2011 WOIO.
