Man accused in vicious cold case rapes, murder wants to withdraw his admission of guilt

The man accused in a brutal cold case rape and murder wants to change his guilty plea.

In February 2010, the Cuyahoga County Cold Case Unit solved the 1982 rape and murder of 42-year-old Mary Ann Finegan and the rape and attempted murder of a 38-year-old woman.

On August 10th, 58-year-old Richard Wilson pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated murder with three felony murder specifications of rape, kidnapping, aggravated robbery and course of conduct.

On August 17th, Wilson was scheduled to be sentenced, but he filed a motion to withdraw his guilty plea instead.

The court will now consider his motion.
