Cleveland cops seek suspects in city's latest murder

Cleveland Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a 46-year-old father. A murder, witnesses tell 19 Action News, was over a hat.
At approximately 6:04PM, Fifth District cops were called out to a shooting.
When they arrived on East 117th, they found the victim with gunshot wounds to the back. EMS was notified responded to the scene and the victim was taken to University Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim and several men were involved in a verbal altercation. During the altercation, handguns were produced and gunfire was exchanged between the victim and the men. As a result of the gunfire, the victim was shot in the back and collapsed in a field.
After the shooting the males fled the scene in a green Chevrolet Lumina 4 door with a partial plate of "FDG." A handgun was recovered on the scene and it is unknown at this time if any of the other men were shot.

This investigation is being handled by the Cleveland Division of Police Homicide Unit.
