Stow couple charged with setting fires to collect cash

A Stow couple has been arrested and charged for a 2009 crime. Tammy, 43, and her husband Scott Purk, 48, are accused of setting their Uniondale Drive home on fire to collect $150,000 in insurance money.

Both appeared in court Thursday. Tammy bonded out while Scott remains behind bars. His bond is $1 million.

Scott, who's charged with aggravated arson, attempted aggravated murder and insurance fraud, is also involved in another fire in 2010. In that incident a duplex was destroyed.

Tammy is charged with aggravated arson and insurance fraud.
