Oakland avoided a four-game sweep by the Indians Thursday afternoon after defeating the Tribe 7-0.

Gio Gonzalez went seven innings allowing four hits while striking out seven.  Gonzalez has pitched well against the Tribe in his career.  Including Thursday's start, he hasn't given up a run against Cleveland in 27 and 2/3's innings.  With the win, Gonzalez is now 5-0 with a 0.25 ERA in six starts.

Fausto Carmona started for the Indians lasting six innings, giving four runs.

Cliff Pennington and Coco Crisp did most of the damage going a combined 7-10 with 5 RBI's.

The Indians travel to Kansas City for a three-game series with the Royals over the weekend.
