WILLOUGHBY HILLS, OH (WOIO) - Willoughby Hills Police say Jermaine Tatum has been taken into custody in Inglewood, California.
Police have been searching for Tatum since last week when his wife, 23-year-old Elizabeth Tatum, was found dead in their Willoughby Towers apartment.
Elizabeth's death is considered suspicious and her husband is a person of interest in the case.
Jermaine and the couple's 18-month-old son had not been seen since August 29th.
Inglewood Police spotted Jermaine leaving a liquor store with his son. He was taken into custody after a short struggle. The toddler was not hurt.
Police say Elizabeth's body was found in a bedroom that had been padlocked from the outside.
No cause of death yet, but police say there was enough decomposition that they believe she had been dead for days.
Police went to the home originally to do a welfare check, after Jermaine's co-workers were concerned when he had not shown up for work.
Elizabeth's family says she had been planning on leaving him.
In 2006, Jermaine was convicted of domestic violence and Elizabeth was the victim.
