Offensive Player of the Week:  Temple RB Bernard Pierce

Junior running back Bernard Pierce (Ardmore, Pa.) recorded the 10th 100-yard performance of his career in the Owls 42-7 win over Villanova last Thursday.  Pierce finished with 20 carries for 147 yards and three touchdowns. His three touchdowns also tied a career high. Pierce is just the third player in Temple history to record 10 games of 100 yards rushing. Pierce is No. 5 on Temple's career receiving list with 1,236 yards, No. 2 in rushing TDs with 29, and No. 5 in points scored with 180.

Defensive Player of the Week:  Bowling Green DT Chris Jones

Junior defensive tackle Chris Jones (Brownsburg, Ind.) helped the Falcons to a 32-15 win at Idaho last Thursday with three tackles, three tackles for loss, two sacks and a forced fumble.  Jones also recorded a safety for the Falcons' final score of the day.

Special Teams Player of the Week:  Ohio PR Travis Carrie

Junior punt returner Travis Carrie (Antioch, Calif.) had a 65-yard punt return for a touchdown in the Bobcats 44-24 win at New Mexico State last Saturday.  Carrie had two returns for 71 yards (35.5 avg.), including the score. Carrie's first punt return for a score was the first time a Bobcat had returned a punt for a touchdown since LaVon Brazill against Kent State in 2009.

West Division

Offensive Player of the Week:  Northern Illinois QB Chandler Harnish

Senior quarterback Chandler Harnish (Bluffton, Ind.) completed 12-of-19 passes for a career-high five touchdowns and 195 yards, and ran for 80 yards and a score on 11 carries, to lead the Huskies to a 49-26 victory over Army on Saturday. Harnish's passing efficiency rating of 225.68 currently ranks second in the country as he completed touchdown passes of 13, 19, 6, 58 and 4 yards to five different receivers.  His five touchdown passes were the most by a Huskie quarterback since Phil Horvath threw five versus Akron in 2005 (Sept. 17), and placed him into third place on the NIU career charts with 45.  Harnish totaled 275 yards of total offense and averaged 9.2 yards per play as the Huskies won their season opener for the first time since 2003.

Defensive Player of the Week:  Ball State DT Nathan Ollie

Sophomore defensive tackle Nathan Ollie (Chicago, Ill.) collected four tackles, including two sacks, in Ball State's 27-20 win over Indiana at Lucas Oil Stadium last Saturday.  Ollie's first sack of the night was on a 3rd and 12 play with the game tied at 14-14, as the sack forced Indiana to kick a field goal, which gave the Hoosiers a 17-14 lead.  Ollie's second sack of the game came late in the third quarter on a 1st and 10 play when Ollie sacked the Hoosiers for a seven yard loss as they held on to a 24-17 lead.
