ELYRIA, OH (WOIO) - In Elyria, a 68-year-old woman killed in a house fire.
The blaze started around 5:38 p-m Tuesday, at the victims house at 315 Columbus Avenue.
Firefighters were on the scene four minutes later.
The victim was on the couch when the fire started.
Two brothers who live across the street, managed to pull her from the house.
She was life-flighted to Metro, but died later Tuesday evening.
Her name is not yet being released.
The Fire Chief says the fire started on the couch, but the exact cause remains under investigation. Careless smoking has not been ruled out.
This is the first fatal fire in Elyria this year.
