Sheriff looking for armed robbery suspect in Ravenna

RAVENNA, OH (WOIO) - The Portage County Sheriff's office is asking for the public's help identifying a suspect in an armed robbery that happened at the Walmart on SR 59 in Ravenna Friday evening.

The suspect walked into the story, flashed a handgun to a clerk and demanded money.  After he was handed and undisclosed amount of cash, he fled from the store.

The suspect is a black male in his early 20s, approximately 5' 10" and a thin build.  He was wearing a dark color hooded sweatshirt with light pants and a gray and black baseball cap.

He was driving a dark, 4-door older model vehicle with a hood that does not match the body color.  The vehicle also has damage to the driver's side rear tail-light, possibly the passenger side tail-light as well, and minor damage to the front of the vehicle.

Anyone with information should call the Sheriff's Department at 330-296-5100.  The suspect should be considered armed and dangerous and urges that anyone who thinks they see the suspect should not take action on their own.
