Ohio State Highway Patrol Troopers were lead on a three county chase after attempting to stop a stolen pick-up truck pulling a cargo trailer.

The vehicle had been reported stolen from an Arlington Road business in Springfield Township. 

At approximately 10:30PM Monday night, troopers spotted the stolen vehicle on Everhard Road in Belden Village. When troopers attempted to stop the vehicle, it fled northbound on Interstate 77 through Summit County, where it sideswiped a 2001 Ford Escape driven by 18-year-old Megan R. McCarthy. 

The vehicle continued onto Interstate 270 and Interstate 480 in Cuyahoga County.  At approximately 11:25PM, the pursuit ended when the vehicle exited at Lee Road and stopped.  The suspects fled on foot and were apprehended a short time later.

25-year-old Charles A.E. Austin and 22-year-old Brian A. Collins were charged with five counts each of receiving stolen property and one count each of obstructing official business. Both were incarcerated in the Stark County Jail.

Assisting with the pursuit was the Jackson Township Police Department, Summit County Sheriff's Department, Akron Police Department, Fairlawn Police Department, Bedford Heights Police Department, Macedonia Police Department and Cleveland Police Department. Also assisting with police K-9's were the Independence and Shaker Heights Police Departments.
