Officers names released in deadly police involved shooting

Cleveland Police are now releasing the names of the Officers involved in the deadly police-involved shooting on Cleveland's west side early Friday morning.

It happened on West 25th Street outside of Club Envy around 2:15AM. The shooting happened just down the street from the popular West Side Market.

Police tell 19 Action News Officers Alfred Johnson, Dwayne Borders  and Victor Claudio were off-duty and working security, when a fight broke out inside the club. The officers escorted the involved parties outside.

After leaving Club Envy, one of the men involved in the fight got into a vehicle with two of his friends. He then noticed the person he was fighting standing outside as a crowd was leaving the club.

Police say the driver got out of his car, produced a handgun and started shooting into the crowd of people. Three people were shot.

Two of the officers returned fire, and struck the gunman in the neck and shoulder.

After shooting into the crowd, the driver got back into the car, traveled a short distance and crashed. The driver died on scene.

EMS rushed three shooting victims to the hospital, as well as a passenger in the gunman's vehicle. No word on conditions at this time.

The two other men in the gunman's car were placed under arrest.

No police officers were injured. The Officers are now on administrative leave, which is standard procedure.
