Cleveland Heroes Run: honoring West Park's fallen officers and firefighters

The 10th annual Cleveland Heroes Run is Sunday, September 18th.

The event honors West Park's fallen police officers and firefighters, who gave their lives in the line of duty while either serving the citizens of Cleveland's West Park area or while living within the community.

Cleveland Police and Cleveland Firefighters Honor Guards will do a Roll Call of and tribute to all of the Fallen Officers honored on West Park Cleveland Police and Firefighters Memorial.

The 5 mile run / 2 mile walk begins on the campus of St. Joseph Academy on Rocky River Drive. The course will take participants through the Cleveland MetroParks and past the West Park Cleveland Police and Firefighters Memorial on their way to the finish line back at St. Joseph Academy.

The race awards more than 100 medals in various categories.  Race day registration is $25.

Registered participants receive a commemorative long-sleeved race t-shirt, post race refreshments and a goody bag. The family friendly event also includes door prizes, a raffle and children's activities.

Proceeds from the race benefit the West Park Cleveland Police and Fire Fighters Memorial Scholarship Fund.

• Opening Ceremony 8:10 a.m.

• 5 Mile Race: 8:30 a.m.

• 2 Mile Fun Run/Walk: 8:30 a.m.

• Little Heroes Dash: 9:30 a.m.





For children ages 7 and younger, free, each participant to receive a "special award." Plus there will be activities for the children including Cleveland Clinic's "Let's Move it."
Prizes awarded to youths 14 and under.
Categories include: All ages, Cleveland Police and Fire Fighter Divisions. Prizes awarded to the top three finishers in each group and overall male and female.
