Diabetes may increase Dementia risk

(WOIO) - A warning now for people with Diabetes.

Researchers warning that Diabetics could be at risk for a debilitating condition.

As if dealing with diabetes is not difficult enough, a Japanese study has shown a link between Diabetes and an increased risk of Dementia. As a matter of fact, the study shows that abnormally high blood sugar tests may put you at risk.

Kyushu University researchers followed more than a thousand people for an average of eleven years. Diabetics were twice as likely to develop Dementia as people with normal blood sugar levels.

The study makes it clear, more than ever, that diabetics must do everything in their power to keep their blood sugar under control, and if you are pre-Diabetic, it would be a wise decision to make sure you are pro active in your care.@
