The Indians recalled pitcher Zach McAllister from the AAA Columbus Clippers on Monday. McAllister will start Tuesday night's game against the White Sox at Progressive Field.
McAllister has spent most of the season in Columbus where he went 12-3 with a 3.32 ERA in 25 starts. He finished the regular season tied for third in the International League in wins, fourth in innings pitches and seventh in both strikeouts and ERA.
On the year he limited right-handed hitters to a .241 average against and a .223 average with runners on base. He went at least five innings in 23 of 25 AAA starts and also went 1-1 with a 3.21 ERA in 2 International League playoff starts.
He made two Major League starts with Cleveland on July 7 and August 23 and posted a 12.27 ERA in those outings (7.1IP, 15H, 13R/10ER).
