Third grader caught with unloaded gun

A third grader with a gun was found at Woodland Academy Thursday, a charter school on Cleveland's eastside.

Someone told a teacher the kid had a gun in a book bag and security found it unloaded.

The third grader said his 6 year old brother put the gun in the bag and the 6 year old said he found the gun in mom's closet.   Mom confirmed she keeps the gun unloaded on a shelf in her closet.

The 8 year old with the gun is not  locked up at this time. The case has been referred to juvenile investigators, charges could come later.
