Workers at the Virgil E. Brown county building in Cleveland tell 19 Action News that bedbugs were found in offices at the Department of Human Services.
A worker says the bugs appeared at least six months ago, but that managers refused to acknowledge the problem.
"I think it's absurd," said Andrea Henderson, a worker at Catholic Charities. "It's an unsafe environment and no one should be in this building."
Paperwork confirms that Cleveland city officials were notified of the problem. We attempted to confront officials, but were told to leave. When we did talk to officials, they said it was the first they've heard of bedbugs in the building.
An e-mail was sent to workers later Friday acknowledged the bedbug problem. Workers were told the issue would be resolved.
