Ohio State Trooper injured in car accident is released from Metro

BOSTON HEIGHTS, OH (WOIO) - An Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper is recovering at home after being Life Flighted to MetroHealth Medical Center Saturday afternoon.

Trooper Kenneth Collins was injured in a car accident Saturday afternoon on the Ohio Turnpike.

OSP says Trooper Collins was on a traffic stop when his patrol car was struck from behind.  The car that hit Trooper Collins vehicle then struck two other cars.

Two drivers and one passenger were transported to local hospitals.

The accident happened in the westbound lanes one mile west of S.R. 8 just after 4:30pm.

The crash remains under investigation by the State Highway Patrol.

Collins was released from Metro on Sunday.
