Despite being a candidate for the White Sox managerial job, Sandy Alomar Jr. will be the Indians bench coach in 2012.  Alomar will replace Tim Tolman, who will be reassigned within the organization.

Alomar has been the Indians first base coach for the past two years under Manny Acta.  It's believed Alomar will interview with the White Sox by the end of the week.  He had three different stints with the Sox, in 2001-02 before being traded to Colorado.   He went back to Chicago for the 2003-04 seasons, and again in 2006.

Tolman has some health issues, which is the reason for the change.  He has been with Acta since 2007 when Tolman was Acta's third base coach in Washington.
