Brunswick Hills neighborhoods on alert after break-ins

BRUNSWICK HILLS, OH (WOIO) - Several burglaries in Brunswick Hills Township and one in neighboring Medina Township have the Brunswick Hills and Medina Township Police looking to their communities for assistance.

"We have already added additional patrols" said Chief Sharon MacKay of the Brunswick Hills Police Department.  "Partnering with our residents puts even more eyes and ears out there looking for those who committed these crimes and watching to prevent repeat occurrences."

All of the burglaries have occurred from September 5th to the 19th, 2011 and have similar characteristics. The homeowners are away, sometimes for the day, sometimes longer. The home is entered through a locked front door and the exit is through a rear patio door.

Jewelry and cash appear to be the only items taken. Three of the four burglaries in Brunswick Hills occurred in a one area called The Arbors at Grafton and Marks Rd. The burglary in Medina Township was in the southern part of the township known as The Reserve.

"The individual or individuals working our communities need to be apprehended" stressed Chief David Arbogast of the Medina Township Police. "We need to work together to make this happen."

Anyone with information regarding these burglaries or observe any suspicious activity can contact the Brunswick Hills Police Department at 440-523-8896 or the Medina Township Police Department at 330-723-5191 or call 911.
