Nursing home deemed uninhabitable after 20-year-old crashes truck into building

MENTOR, OH (WOIO) - A nursing home is now uninhabitable after a woman crashed her pick-up truck into one of the bedrooms.

The accident happened on Sunday evening at the Haven Homes Assisted Living Center on Rockingham Road.

Police say 20-year-old April Lineberry of Concord Township got into an accident with two cars at 8683 Mentor Avenue.

Lineberry continued driving, went off the road and drove over a tree in the parking lot at 8658 Mentor. She then barreled through a fence and into the nursing home.

Lineberry actually drove into a bedroom at the home. Luckily, nobody was in that bedroom.

Lineberry then threw the car into reverse, drove through a backyard at 7376 Parker, struck a tree and continued driving until she reached Mentor Avenue.

Police caught up to her on Mentor Avenue and she finally stopped at 9880 Old Johnnycake Road.

There were 12 residents and one manager inside the Haven Homes Assisted Living Center at the time of the accident.

One resident was transported to a hospital as a precaution.

It is unclear how long the building repairs will take or will residents will go during that period of time.

Lineberry faces multiple charges.
