Euclid man arraigned in cold case killing of school teacher

EUCLID, OH (WOIO) - A man indicted in a cold murder case out of Euclid pleads not guilty at his arraignment Tuesday morning.

Richard Penque of Euclid was indicted on a series of charges; including, aggravated murder. Investigators say he killed a  school teacher back in 2008.

54-year-old Marilyn Habian was found fatally shot inside her Ball Avenue home in Euclid. Habian was a teacher at the Alexander Graham Bell School at Jesse Owens in Cleveland.

Police say Penque lived across the street from Habian. Police believe the motive was burglary.

Penque was serving time for another crime and the indictment on this murder case came down the day jailers were ready to release him!

Penque is now locked up in the Cuyahoga County Jail.  Bond has been set at one million dollars.
