Teenage punk robs woman of $2 at gunpoint

AKRON, OH (WOIO) - An 18-year-old punk arrested after robbing a woman at gunpoint for $2.

The 48-year-old victim reported she was walking near the intersection of West Long Street and Victory Street when the suspect, identified as Kevin S. Carter, approached her.

Carter demanded the victim's money. When the victim refused, the suspect pulled out a large handgun from his waistband and demanded the victim's money again. The victim pulled out two dollars and handed it to Carter. He then fled towards an apartment building on West Long Street.

The victim gave responding officers a description of the Carter and the apartment where the fled. Officers were given consent by the resident to check the apartment. Officers located Carter, matching the description the victim gave to officers, hiding in the basement. Officers recovered a loaded .45 caliber pistol hidden in a box in the basement. Officers also recovered the victim's $2 in his right front pocket.

Officers charged Carter with Aggravated Robbery, Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Tampering with Evidence. He was booked into the Summit County Jail.
