Stop sign violation leads to cocaine discovery

MEDINA COUNTY, OH (WOIO) - A Medina Sheriff's Deputy stopped a vehicle after the driver failed to stop at a stop sign, and a drug dog lead them to 129 grams of powder cocaine.

It happened Monday evening, the intersection of the offense was near Route 83 and Garmen Road in Hartville Township but the driver was stopped on I-71.

After the dog alerted deputies, they searched the Suburban SUV.  The cocaine was found hidden in the engine compartment.

The driver, Richard Miles II of Youngstown, also had $2,000 cash on him.

Miles was arrested for possession of cocaine.  The money and drugs were seized.
