Man booed off stage causes disturbance, gets arrested

SANDUSKY, OH (WOIO) - Sandusky police were called to Cabana Jack's for a large fight in the street on Tuesday.

As officers arrived, witnesses told police that the suspect was running northbound on Columbus Avenue.

When officers approached the suspect, later identified as Isiah Johnson, saw them and started running again, then headed back towards the bar.

Once officers had him, they had to use reasonable force to take him into custody.  They ordered him repeatedly to lay on the ground, and he refused.

Back at the bar, officers talked to witnesses who stated that the situation started when Johnson was singing karaoke when people started booing him.  He threw down the microphone.

Johnson was removed from the bar, but he walked inside and refused to leave.  He also struck a couple of the people helping to remove Johnson from the bar.

The crowd helping to remove Johnson then moved out into the street where he continued to fight with everyone.

Johnson was taken on station and charged with three counts of Assault, Obstructing Official Business, Resisting arrest, Persistent Disorderly Conduct Intoxication and Underage Consumption. Johnson was also noticed to be under the influence.

Johnson was argumentative while in the holding cell on station.
