ELYRIA, OH (WOIO) - Elyria Police Officers were called to the Speedway on Griswold on Wednesday after receiving a call about a female who had set the gas pumps on fire.
The woman had fled from the gas station. Officers found her stopping traffic and another female was trying to help her.
The woman, identified as Brittany Job or New Jersey, was observed to be disoriented and smelled heavily of gasoline.
Police took her into custody and taken to the jail where they had her change clothes and shower. She suffered chemical burns on her legs, feet and both hands.
She was then taken to the hospital for a physical and mental evaluation.
Officers contacted her mother in New Jersey and notified them of the incident.
