Last month 19 Action News showed you the collapse at the new casino parking garage. Now there's word is red tape is slowing things down even more.
The Horseshoe Casino is scheduled to open in late March, but today the Casino Control Commission said "Hold it!"
They want to push back the opening to June.
The state tells us the commission won't have enough time to complete it's required investigation. They have to look over everything from company stockholders, to gaming vendors and machines.
Meantime, Rock Gaming LLC, which will run the casino said they're disappointed but they're committed to getting this done.
STATEMENT FROM ROCK GAMING LLC:
Although we are disappointed by today's discussions of postponing the anticipated March opening of Horseshoe Cleveland, we respect the Commission's diligence and dedication to address the many tasks associated with a new gaming jurisdiction. Rock Ohio Caesars will continue to work swiftly and cooperatively with the Commission, as it is critical to solidify timelines and regulatory milestones. We remain committed to delivering a first-class gaming facility that plays an important role in sparking tourism while providing needed revenue and local jobs in the Cleveland community. We do not expect that today's discussion will impact Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati, which is still slated to open in Spring 2013.
