Lead-foot loser leads police on chase, crashes into Akron house

AKRON, OH (WOIO) - An Akron man behind bars after a leading police on a chase and crashing into a home.

Cops spotted 23-year-old Alexander N. Burhalter speeding on West Market around 11:30PM Tuesday night.

They caught up with him on Broadway & MLK and attempted to pull him over. Burhalter didn't stop and led police on a short chase. He finally lost control and crashed into the front porch of a home on North College Street.

A man living in the home went outside to see what happened and fell to the ground since his porch was damaged. He was not injured.

The suspect refused to exit his vehicle after crashing into the porch and attempted to take off again. He suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

Burhalter is charged with felony willful fleeing, drug possession (marijuana) and obstructing official business.
