SHALERSVILLE TOWNSHIP, OH (WOIO) - A knife-wielding student pepper sprayed by police.
It happened Wednesday at the CLP School in Shalersville Township.
Officers were called for reports of disruptive juveniles. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a female student with self-inflicted knife wounds. Deputies learned that another female student had information about the location of the knife involved.
Deputies did locate the other female student who was believed to know the location of the knife. Upon questioning the student about the whereabouts of the knife, the juvenile female started to walk away from the deputies and in doing so, produced a folding knife that was concealed on her body.
She opened the knife and raised it towards deputies. A Deputy ordered her to drop the knife. She refused and was pepper sprayed by the deputy; at which time she threw the knife at the deputy, closely missing him.
Deputies were then able to subdue the female student. The student that had self-inflicted injuries was taken for further treatment.
The student with the knife was taken for physiological evaluation, and will be charged with assault on deputies. Other charges may be pending.
