Indictment filed against man accused of running dog fighting ring

An indictment has just been filed against the man accused of running a huge dog fighting ring.

38 charges filed against Collin Rand. The charges include dog fighting, cruelty to animals and drug possession.

Cleveland police and the Dog Warden seized nine adult dogs and 18 puppies from Rand's East 91st home during a raid on December 22nd.

Officers say the dogs were raised at the house and the did the fighting in the basement. According to the officers, blood was everywhere in the basement. Vitamins for the dogs and a book tracking the operation was also discovered.

The rescued dogs are now at the Cleveland Kennel and a volunteer organization is helping the city find new homes for the dogs.
